We are our Brothers' Keeper

Who We Are & What We Do

WIA is a small but powerful faith based 501 c (3) organization.

But whoever has the world’s goods (adequate resources), and sees his brother in need, but has no compassion for him, how does the love of God live in him?  1 John 3:17

WIA feeds the homeless physical and spiritual food in Shelby County. Our ministry assists in several ways:

  • Each Saturday morning WIA volunteers distribute 200 sack lunches and water in downtown Memphis.
  • Once a month WIA volunteers provide worship service and hot meals to 200-400 homeless in Memphis Union Mission.
  • Twice a year WIA volunteers organize a health fair for the public at Memphis Union Mission. We serve 200-400 homeless people.
  • Once a year WIA volunteers prepares a summer barbeque at Morris Park, Memphis. We serve 500 people.
  • WIA created the “backpack project”; WIA volunteers pack and distribute 300 pack backs for the homeless. The backpacks include: which included hats, scarfs, socks, blankets, gloves, hand warmers and personal bags.
